Teeth in Day same-day dental implants, also known as same day teeth, smile in a day or All on 4, is an advanced tooth replacement solution where a full arch of missing or failing teeth can be restored in a single day.

In a matter of hours, dental implants and a full arch of new teeth are securely fixed in your mouth. You leave with a stunning new smile and your dental problems solved.

In most cases, just a single surgical appointment is required. So, not only is the same day dental implant procedure less invasive than traditional implant techniques, treatment time is reduced by many months.

A long term dental solution

For anyone whose quality of life is overshadowed by unstable or missing teeth, Teeth in a Day can be transformational.

Even if you’ve been told gum disease and bone loss make you unsuitable for dental implants, in the hands of a skilled and experienced implant surgeon, Teeth in a Day could be a long-lasting option for you.

Well-known benefits include:

An end to recurrent dental infection and pain

Stable teeth that stay securely in your mouth

The freedom to eat without worry

A beautiful, new smile.

Rediscover your confidence

Patients tell us that missing or unsightly teeth can make them too self-conscious to smile and even avoid social situations.

Many are surprised by the renewed confidence they feel once they’re liberated from their dental problems and have teeth they are proud of.

The confidence to live richer lives and to like the smile looking back at them in the mirror is an unexpected outcome.

Under the clinical direction of specialist periodontist, Dr Michael Zybutz, we are leaders in implant placement and the highly skilled All on 4 technique.

The extensive experience of our surgical teams, and our reputation for outstanding dental care, means we routinely accept referrals from general dentists to carry out the most advanced and complex procedures.

Teeth in a Day

Teeth in a Day explained

Just like conventional treatment, the implants used in the Teeth in a Day (All on 4) implant procedure are titanium rods used to replace your natural tooth root.

All on 4 refers to fact that just four dental implants are usually used to support a full set of upper or lower jaw replacement teeth. The implants are surgically placed at very precise angles to maximise contact with your existing bone, thereby avoiding bone grafting for most patients.

Usually requiring just a single surgical procedure, the technique is less invasive than traditional implants and treatment time is reduced by many months.

This advanced, highly skilled treatment provides:

Fixed, non-removable teeth

Immediate function and aesthetics

Long-term stability and durability – just like natural teeth.

How can you do it in one day?

With same day or “immediate loading” implant procedures, any necessary extractions, the implant surgery and the placing of a first set of fixed teeth all happen on one day.

Patients leave with a beautiful new smile, securely fixed on implants.

This first set of fixed teeth remains in place whilst the bone integrates with the dental implants.

The teeth are then exchanged for the final long-lasting set about three months later.

No surgery is necessary at this appointment.

Is treatment painful?

Anxiety commonly stems from a fear of pain, often the result of traumatic experiences in the past.

Pain is not a barrier to treatment – or a new smile – at David Neal Dental.

We offer both local and conscious sedation.

Even patients who have whole sets of teeth restored on implants are surprised how little pain or discomfort  they experience during the procedure, or after.

After surgery, it is normal to experience some discomfort, bruising and swelling.

These symptoms can be managed with over-the-counter medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Some patients find that an ice pack soothes discomfort in the days immediately after surgery.

Treating nervous patients

Many of the patients we help are very anxious about undergoing dental treatment, often stemming from bad experiences in the past.

By the time they come to David Neal Dental, years of avoiding the dentist’s chair have caught up on them so they suffer with all the difficulties associated with loose and missing teeth.

Our role is to solve your problems with our clinical and restorative skills, our experience and award-winning approach to patient care.

Every member of our team is highly trained in caring for nervous patients.

We ensure the most calm and comfortable experience possible.

We go at your pace and never make any patient feel judged for the condition of their teeth.

We work with you to manage your anxiety, and to ensure that all discomfort is kept to a minimum.

We encourage you to share your thoughts and concerns, however big or small.

Why Teeth in a Day is suitable for nervous patients

  • Only one surgical procedure is usually required
  • Many fewer appointments are required
  • The procedure is virtually pain-free
  • Conscious sedation creates a relaxed, dream-like state, with little post-surgery recall
  • Our clinicians have won awards for their outstanding treatment of nervous patients

Teeth in a Day versus dentures

Dentures and dental implants are both well-known tooth replacement solutions for people with loose and missing teeth.

The key difference lies in the fact that dental implants remain fixed in your mouth like natural teeth, whereas dentures need to be removed for cleaning.

Teeth in a Day vs traditional implants

Traditional dental implants

Traditional dental implant treatments often require multiple surgical procedures – bone grafts, extractions, implant placement.

Many weeks of healing time are needed following each stage.

Once the implants are placed, patients wear a removable denture, or live with gaps, until the bone has sufficiently integrated with the implants.

At this point, a new tooth or set of teeth can be placed onto the implants.

Same-day dental implants

Same-day implants, also known as Teeth in a Day, smile in a day or immediate loading teeth, condense the multiple surgical procedures and long periods of healing time into a single surgical procedure.

Any extractions, implant placement surgery and the fixing of a new crown (for single implants) or a full set of new teeth (for full jaw restoration) is completed on the same day.

Bone grafting is rarely needed, even in cases of advanced jawbone loss.

These first teeth remain securely fixed in place throughout the healing phase. There is no need to live with gaps or a denture.

They are exchanged for the final, long-lasting set about three months later once the bone has integrated with the implants.

This enables us to make any aesthetic refinements to your final new tooth or teeth and ensure a perfect fit with your newly settled gums.

As only one surgical intervention is needed, the technique is less invasive and saves months of healing time associated with traditional implant treatments.

Your dentist will advise you on the best option for your personal requirements.

3 Steps to your new smile

1. Initial consultation, CT scan and treatment plan.

Patients are assessed to confirm suitability.

2. Surgery day – your new teeth and smile!

Dental implants and a first set of fixed teeth is placed – on the same day.

3. Your forever smile!

About 3 months later, we exchange the temporary teeth for your final set.

The benefits of same-day teeth

Teeth in a Day (All on 4) is the most advanced, highly skilled dental implant technique.

Much reduced treatment time – months less than conventional implant treatment

Virtually pain-free procedure – ideal for nervous patients

Long-lasting solution – can last a lifetime with proper care

Benefits

Same-day dental implants costs

Highly skilled, advanced procedures such as Teeth in a Day are a significant investment in your well-being so cost is often a consideration when choosing your dental implant team.

Implant prices can differ significantly, and it’s not always obvious why the same treatment is quoted at such varying rates, whether in the UK or abroad.

Think about the whole package, not just cost.

Everyone has their own reasons for undergoing full arch tooth restoration – maybe it’s to be rid of dental pain and infection, to eat without fear of losing more teeth, or to smile again without feeling self-conscious.

Whatever your motivation, research carefully to find a dentist you know can deliver the results and treatment experience you’re hoping for, especially for more highly skilled procedures such as All on 4.

Be clear about your expectations: successful clinical outcome, smile aesthetics, standards of patient care, aftercare etc.

Lower costs can reflect poorer quality materials, lower levels of experience in implant placement or lower standards of patient care – all of which can contribute to unsuccessful outcomes.

Spread the cost of treatment

We offer a range of payment plans designed to make dental implant treatment more accessible.

They allow patients to spread treatment cost over an agreed period of time. Your Treatment Co-ordinator can answer any questions and help you with your finance application.

Why do dental implant costs vary so much?

Treatment costs are often a reflection of the following:

  • The skill and experience of the implant surgeon
  • How currently and frequently they place implants
  • Implant techniques available – traditional versus same-day
  • Safety standards and a professional environment
  • Quality of implants and materials
  • Quality of equipment used
  • Bespoke prosthesis creation versus “off the shelf” limited choice
  • Technology and techniques used for precise planning and safety
  • Treatment success rates
  • Standards of patient care
  • Continuity of care from start to finish
  • Aftercare – accountability if things go wrong
  • Transparency in costs – might there be unexpected extras?

Why do dental implant costs vary so much?

Why is dental treatment cheaper abroad?

Dentistry abroad can be significantly less expensive than in the UK, attracting “dental tourists” who travel overseas to take advantage of lower treatment costs.

If this is something you are considering, careful research is advised to make sure you find a reputable team who will treat you safely.

Check details including:

The qualifications and experience of the surgeon

The quality of implants and materials they use

Whether the practices meet international dentistry standards

What aftercare is available, and what happens if something goes wrong.

All of these elements contribute to clinically safe treatment and successful outcomes.

NHS – going abroad for treatment checklist

The NHS highlights the following warning signs:

  • A hard sell
  • A lack of information
  • Pressure to make a quick decision
  • No discussion of possible complications
  • No mention of aftercare
